Somewhere along Interstate 80 and the expansive Nevada mountains, a violent storm pounded my vehicle.  Stinging rain was punctuated with brilliant flashes of lightning that lit the darkened afternoon sky.  Alone, and thrilled with this rare adventure, I celebrated the storm and the unfamiliar terrain and the unexpected majesty of this remote territory.

Rushing along its own deliberate path, the storm left this beauty in its wake.  The magnificent rainbow vibrantly jeweled the entire landscape, kissing the earth before me, and staged a dramatic window to the distant horizon still wrapped in storm clouds.  There wasn’t a soul in sight; just me and God, and the grandeur of mountains and storm, and echoes of promises sealed long ago in dazzling color.

I was reminded that signs and wonders shall never cease, because God lives forever.  His faithfulness is emblazoned in earth and sky and sea, and His majesty gilds every clouded sky with hope.  There are times when unabashed worship is the irresistible response. . . .

. . . when Majesty surrounds you.
